Any tips on getting into print...self publishing seems a good option at the moment. Does Purple Ray intend to publish other writers work? (hint, hint!) ;D

Hi,
You might want to look at my answer to Paul about getting published - hopefully it will help.
I'm afraid PurpleRay Publishing is purely for me to publish my own books (sounds so selfish!). Self-publishing can be so time consuming and takes me away from writing so for me, it's just a vehicle to get my work out.
Don't get me wrong. I've learnt a huge amount doing it this way and to have so much control over your work is brilliant, but obviously it's both time consuming and financially consuming!!
You need to try the normal route first. If things don't work out I'm an expert on the self-publishing route!
Best wishes, Debra

Thanks for your reply. I can understand that this publishing business is hard work. I have read numerous books on how to get started and have submitted to agents and had rejections scrawled on corners of paper..NICE! I think I may go the same route you have taken and see if I can get a run of about 500+ going and promote where possible. My books are illustrated and I have written ones for children approx aged 8-12 years, too. I won't give up and any advice will be most gratefully received.
Many thanks from your FB friend x
